His Story

A Life Rooted in Wichita

Silas Miller grew up in Wichita and attended Wichita Public Schools. District 25 has never been a campaign stop to him. It is home.

After school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. The Corps taught him the values that still shape how he works: discipline, duty, and accountability. Real leadership means showing up prepared, owning the outcome, and not walking away from the people counting on you.

He came back to Wichita and built a life working with his hands. Like most people in District 25, he has never had the luxury of just one job. That work put him shoulder to shoulder with working families, listening to neighbors talk about what things cost, which schools are struggling, and how hard it is to see a doctor. No policy briefing teaches you that.

He and his wife, Bailey, live in the East Front neighborhood.

In the Legislature

From the House Floor to the Senate Floor

Silas represented Kansas House District 86 from 2023 to 2025. In December 2025, Democratic precinct committee members in Sedgwick County selected him to represent Senate District 25, filling the seat left by Senator Mary Ware's retirement.

He brings the same standard to the Senate that he brought to the House: vote your conscience, answer to the people you represent, and keep showing up.

Where He Stands

Shows up. Real representation means a senator who lives the same reality as the people he serves, not one who flies in for a photo op.

Lives here. He knows which intersections flood, which schools are struggling, and which families are working two jobs to keep the lights on in Sedgwick County.

Listens first. Silas hears from working families every day. Those conversations, not consultants, tell him what District 25 actually needs.
